Now is the time to return to school. Take advantage during these economic times by enrolling in an online university.

Week 2 of the BigRigg Challenge (huh?) consisted of better eating, jogging a few times during the week, and trying to be DONE eating by 7 or 7:30 pm every night.  So, did it all pay off?

Same results as last week!  I can’t complain, a loss is a loss :)

  • Initial Weight: 241.4 lbs
  • Weight after this week’s weigh-in: 239.0 lbs
  • +/- : -1.2 lbs
  • Total lost: 2.4 lbs

Good luck to everyone else taking part in the BigRigg Challenge.  If you post your weekly results, remember to add a link to it using the Mr. Linky box below, and also link back to my site on your post.  Have a great week everyone!

When I started this latest weight-loss attempt back in August, my short-term goal was to lose 22lbs. This morning I hit that milestone, weighing less than 220 lbs for the first time in my adult life. Next stop, weighing less than 200.
  • Congratulations! I know that must feel awesome. Good luck on the next goal!
  • AdamsMom
Jason, what an incredible milestone! You should be very very proud of yourself. Remember to treat yourself (no, not with doughnuts) for such a great accomplishment! I am looking forward to your next great adventure....199 pounds!
  • That's awesome, Jason!
  • Way to go Adam! :) You're such an inspiration!!
  • Aw, thanks!
  • AdamsMom
Congratulations Adam!!!! Way to go. Looks like I'll be buying you dinner this week. BUT....don't get too used to it, Ya goin' dowwwwnnnnn..... Good job!

Well, I weighed in today. I'm up 1/2 pound. This week I had breakfast and lunch meetings just about every day, and didn't get a chance to workout other than walking twice for a half hour each time. I forgot to log my weights, so here they are:
    Starting 130.5
    Last week: 129.5 (hooray!)
Today: 130.0 (oh well, pick myself up, dust myself off, keep going!)
I know my goal of dropping 5 pounds may seem lame, but I've been trying (hard) to do this since the beginning of the year. So I'm counting on you guys to keep me on the straight and narrow!
  • it doesn't matter what your goal is, as long as you have one, that's all that matters!
  • I never did my original weight post, so today I did my original weight and goals, and this weeks weigh in in two posts. http://corrineinreallife.tumblr.com/
  • Congrats! Great job on being in the negative!

Mama Gomer, Adam is right! A loss is excellent!!! Keep up the good work, and I hope you feel better!

I lost 8.8lbs in 7 days (went from 305.2 to 296.4).....I have been under a lot of stress these past couple of weeks so I was eating a small lunch (300cals) & a small dinner(300-400cals) all week. I know that this type of drop is an aberration & this morning I made sure I ate breakfast (Multi-grain Cheerios, soy milk & half a banana-200cals) in an effort to bring my calorie count up to at minimum 1000 a day. I have been 300-400lbs for the last 10 years & I am determined to lose the weight & keep it off, but I got to be careful to not lose the weight & end up unhealthier than I was. Thx to all the biggrigg participants, I love reading ur tweets & I look forward to a new week of healthy caloric intake......here is the link to my weigh in Video: http://bit.ly/1emiBT

    Raul

  • Hey Raul. I'm no doctor, but I'd say you should try to keep that minimum to AT LEAST 1,500 calories a day. I had a lot of diets start out fast and awesome and then plateau into pure frustration and disappointment when my body fought back. Go to a site like Livestrong and calculate the calories you need to eat every day to shoot for losing 2-3 lbs a week. That way the weight will keep coming off and it'll be a lot easier to keep it off once you get there.

    Good luck, man!

thx Jason....i do in fact use livestrong daily. (http://www.livestrong.com/profile/bigraz818/) I am going to bring my calories up to the 1500 mark, ur right it should be at least that much....thx again.
  • Well, I'd say look at it as a huge loss, and even though it was due to circumstances that were not the best, maybe that can be the silver lining :) Great job!
  • AdamsMom
Raul, congratulations on breaking through into the 200's! But yes, I agree with everyone....be careful of the cost. I'm sorry you had all the stress last week. I hope things calm down for you. Your dedication and determination are quite an inspiration!

thx....My wife was soo excited for me to finally be in the 2's (albeit the VERY high 2's). I have not been south of 300 in at least 12 years
  • Yeah, I forgot to say that too... You broke into the 200's, which is a HUGE milestone!

I can see the finish line in my sight (i wanna be about 260-250) I want to not only drop 100lbs as a personal accomplishment, I want to keep it off for good.....thank god I'm a foodie that hates processed junk......luv my whole foods (fresh fruits, veggies, minimal ingredients) that is the key to the success I've enjoyed, I dont miss packaged garbage foods.
